Fire crew dispatched to several fires in Rotherham overnight

FIREFIGHTERS from across Rotherham were called out to a number of fires in the borough overnight.

A crew from Aston station went out to an accidental car fire on Narrow Lane, North Anston at 7.10pm. They were on the scene for 20 minutes.

At 8.45pm, firefighters from Rotherham were dispatched to hay on fire on Hollings Lane, Thrybergh, and an hour later they dealt with a fridge freezer blaze on Centenary Way, Canklow.

The final call of the night came through to Dearne firefighters, who went out to a stack of straw alight on Greasbrough Lane, Rawmarsh, at 9.55pm.

They were at the scene for just over two hours. 

A spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the fires in Thrybergh, Canklow and Rawmarsh were believed to be deliberate.
