A FIRE broke out at a manufacturing plant in Rotherham this morning (Thursday). 

Four crews were called to the scene in Northfield Road at 10.21am. 

"The fire involved a hopper containing iron shavings and no-one was injured in the incident," said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. 

"Crews left the scene at around 12.15pm, but were expected to go back to the site tomorrow morning (Friday) to keep an eye on it."

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
