Fears mount for safety of missing pensioner Barry Jones

POLICE are becoming “increasingly anxious” for the safety and wellbeing of a pensioner who has been missing for more than 48-hours.

Barry Jones (77), of Aston, was last seen getting off a bus in Woodhouse Mill, Sheffield, at around 1.20pm on Tuesday.

Officers said Mr Jones got on the X5 bus in Aston, heading towards Sheffield, at around 11.05am that day.

He is then thought to have boarded the 120 bus to Fulwood at around 12.12pm. 

CCTV footage then shows Mr Jones getting on the X5 bus towards Dinnington in Sheffield Interchange at approximately 1.10pm.

Mr Jones is then believed to have got off the X5 bus at the Woodhouse Mill stop at around 1.20pm that day. 

Officers said that was the last known sighting of Mr Jones and urged the public to come forward if they were on any of these buses at the same time, or believe they may have seen Mr Jones.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a thermal vest and a green coat with a leather collar. 

He is described as being about 5 ft 8 ins tall, of a slim build and has a shaved head.

Call police on 101, quoting incident number 628 of February 28.
