Robbie Foulds and dad Andy, both from Maltby, will ride from Weston Park Hospital at Leeds General Infirmary on Sunday — passing Sheffield Children's Hospital on the way — to raise cash for cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Robbie’s girlfriend Caitlin Carroll (20) was treated for ovarian cancer at Weston Park, the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Rotherham Hospital before being given the all-clear two years ago.

Robbie (20) said: “My dad and I are both keen cyclists and we thought this would be the ideal way to raise some money and give something back.”

The pair hope to complete the ride from Sheffield to Leeds in around four hours.

An online appeal page set up for the ride has already mustered a £500 sponsorship total but more donations are invited..

You can also donate by texting CSAR98 and the amount you would like to donate (suggested donation £2.00) to 70070.
