Farm waste deliberately torched in village

FARM waste was deliberately set alight yesterday evening (Wednesday).

Firefighters attended Abbey Lane in Slade Hooton shortly before 9.30pm and were at the scene for an hour.

There was also a blaze on a grass banking on Hollings Lane in Thrybergh just before 10pm.

And grassland at Aldwarke Road, Parkgate, was on fire at 1.15am today.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed both incidents were also deliberate.
