Fancy a sledge in the spring?

THRILL seekers are being invited to do a spot of sledging with no winter woollies required.

There may not be snow on the ground but Rotherham Borough Council is hosting a springtime grass sledging event at Herringthorpe Valley Park.

Youngsters ages four to 16 are invited to join the action from 1.30pm until 2.30pm on June 7.

The council’s green spaces officer Donna Morton, said: “Come along and join the Green Spaces Team in this fun grass sledging competition.

“Don’t worry if you haven’t been grass sledging before, we’ll be on hand to show you how. It’s amazing fun and no need for a woolly hat and scarf.

“You can bring your own sledge or use one provided.”

The event is free however places are limited. Book in advance by contacting 01709 822453.
