Family's desperate appeal for return of stolen dog

A MUM says her disabled three-year-old daughter has been left distraught after her beloved pet pug was pinched just yards from their home.

Chloe Addison said little Ellieanna, who suffered a brain injury as a baby, was “very close” to pooch Lucy and was inconsolable since the dog went missing.

A week on from the theft, Chloe launched a desperate appeal for the return of the family pet, saying: “I just need to bring her home.”

Daily search parties have been mounted around Thurcroft since Lucy (pictured) was last seen at the corner of Ivanhoe Road and St Edmund’s Avenue just before 5pm last Wednesday.

A Facebook group called Bring Lucy Home has gathered more than 600 members and an appeal for her safe return has been shared all over the UK through social media.

Chloe, who is offering a substantial reward for her prized pet’s safe return, said she wanted to thank the community of Thurcroft for their help.

“There have been people searching and someone came with a drone,” she added. “It has been shared all over the country, too.”

South Yorkshire Police are investigating the theft and urged anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 860 of September 2.
