Danny’s brother Simon said music from his favourite artists would be played at the Rotherham Crematorium service, which will start at 2.45pm and be followed by a wake at Rotherham Rugby Club.

Simon said: “It is with much relief that we as a family can finally lay our Danny to rest.”

More than £15,000 has been raised by friends, well-wishers and fundraisers in Danny’s memory to support his daughter Freya.

A shrine featuring the Rotherham United fan’s photo and football shirts is still in place in Bridgegate, near the scene of the attack.

Ten people have been arrested in connection with Danny’s death and released on bail or under investigation.
