Ex-taxi driver guilty of raping teenage Rotherham girl

A FORMER taxi driver has been found guilty of raping a teenage girl in Rotherham 15 years ago.

Asghar Bostan (47, pictured), of East Bawtry Road in Whiston, was convicted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court this afternoon of two counts of rape.

His victim, a woman who cannot be named for legal reasons, had told the court Bostan twice attacked her at a flat in Wagon Road, Greasbrough, in or around 2003.

Bostan had told the girl, who had been groomed by a neighbour, he would take her to the cinema but raped her after plying her with alcohol.

She told the jury: “I just want justice for the years I have lost because of him.”

Bostan will be sentenced later today.
