Expensive drink: £100 fine for street boozer

A STREET drinker who refused to hand over his booze landed himself with a £100 fine.
The man fell foul of police patrolling Upper Millgate in Rotherham town centre last Tuesday to enforce the public spaces prevention order banning anti-social behaviour.

One person was arrested and another reported on summons for breaching warning notices issued under the order.

A spokesperson said the warnings had been issued for a variety of reasons, including street drinking, begging and swearing.
