Everlys in Rotherham

SOUTH Yorkshire music legends the Everly Pregnant Brothers are having to eat their words.

On the rooftop of Sheffield’s Fat Cat pub at Tramlines 2011 in a humorous northern tribute to Amy Winehouse, the band sang: “They tried to make me go to Rov’rum and I went: ‘No, No, No’.

But now they've volunteered to perform here, with an hour-long set lined up at the Thirsty Flame craft bar and grill on Whitehill Lane in Brinsworth at 8pm tomorrow (4).

The gig is part of a weekend-long event organised to mark American Independence Day, with all proceeds going to  Rotherham Hospice

The weekend's musical line-up starts tonight (3), when the spotlight is handed to a list of local up-and-coming bands.

Tomorrow, Brinsworth’s own Lucy Jay will kick off the outdoor concert at 1pm. Disney soundalikes The Frozen Cast will also be performing for children.

The two-day event will also feature an outdoor beer festival, with a host of regional brewers bringing 20 different ales for sampling and supping.

A hog roast and Frozen movie-themed bouncy castle complete the list of attractions.

Tickets are £5 and are available at the pub or from www.seetickets.com.
