ELECTION 2015: Sarah Champion re-elected as Rotherham MP

SARAH Champion has been re-elected as the Labour MP for Rotherham.

The 45-year-old former hospice chief executive, who was elected in 2012, beat UKIP's Jane Collins in the battle for general election victory.

Ms Champion, who won the 2012 by-election after Denis MacShane's expenses scandal, extended her majority by more than 3,000 to 8,446.

She said: "I'm deeply, deeply honoured and greatly humbled."

  • Rotherham voters are not stupid, I hope they see sense in next May's LOCAL election. Rotherham has been shamed for too long... Labour is being taken over. Rotherham is an embarrassment, even to other Yorkshire folk.. and this paper gets an important name wrong!!
