Elderly woman suffers smoke inhalation in Maltby blaze

AN elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in a Maltby house.

Two fire crews were called to the property on Hazel Road, Maltby, at 2.30am this morning (Tuesday), and spent nearly an hour at the scene.

A fire service spokswoman said the cause of the fire was “not known” but said it was “accidental”.

She added: “The fire was in the bedroom of the property and an elderly lady suffered slight smoke inhalation.”
