Elderly woman robbed in her Aston home

AN ELDERLY woman was robbed at her house in Aston by two thieves who stole her handbag.

Police said the raid happened at Aughton Lane at 1.15pm yesterday.

The woman in her 80s was not injured but has been left incredibly distressed by the incident, a spokeswoman added.

“It is believed that two suspects entered the property and threatened her before stealing her handbag,” said the police spokeswoman.

The incident comes after two house raids in Greasbrough and South Anston in the past week.
