Elderly man's car rolls on its roof after collision with parked cars near Broom

AN ELDERLY man had to be helped from his car after it overturned in Broom.

The 86-year-old's vehicle ended up on its room after colliding with two parked cars, police said.

Police and two fire crews from Rotherham and Maltby were called to Herringthorpe Valley Road at around 7.20pm last night.

A spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said just one car was involved in the incident and was on its roof.

"One man was extricated from the vehicle and firefighters left the scene at 7.45pm," added the spokeswoman.

The car had collided with two parked vehicles and the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution, said a police spokeswoman.
