Elderly man fights back against robber who tried to steal money from him

He tried to steal the money but the elderly man resisted before the suspect left empty handed.

AN  ELDERLY man fought back after a robber tried to mug him by a cashpoint.

The incident took place on Broom Lane at 2.10pm on Saturday (May 21).

After withdrawing money from a cash machine, the elderley gentleman was approached by another man.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing, and anybody with information should contact the police quoting incident number 536 of the May 21.”
