Elderly couple 'shaken and distressed' by Meadowhall assault

POLICE investigating an assault in the car park at Meadowhall shopping centre have released this CCTV image.

It was reported that an elderly couple were driving through the upper level when a pedestrian stepped out in front of the vehicle.

The man shouted at them, opened the car door and slammed it on the passenger’s leg, police said.

PC Craig Crew said: “As they attempted to drive away, the man then spat into the vehicle and in the driver’s face. This incident has naturally left the couple shaken and distressed.

“We’d really like to speak to the man in this CCTV image as we think he could have information about what happened.”

The incident happened at 12.20pm on December 28. Anyone who can help should call 101 quoting crime reference 14/195039/19.
