Executive headteacher Peter Gerrard said: “I’ve worked at Rawmarsh Nursery School and Children’s Centre for eight years and I can say in all honesty the staff are the best of the best.

“Yes, our school is outstanding according to Ofsted, but what makes it special is the complete investment of themselves that staff put into making sure our children and families have the very best start possible to their education.

“We feel lucky and privileged to be still building on the work of our colleagues from back in the 1930s and we hope we’ve done their legacy proud."
