Eight more Covid-related deaths at Rotherham Hospital - but case numbers fall across borough

As of yesterday, the hospital had 55 inpatients who had tested positive for the virus, which was down 13 from last week, with six in critical care.

The latest deaths brought the total of Covid-positive patients who have died at the hospital since the start of the pandemic to 690.

The number of positive tests in Rotherham fell almost nine per cent in the week to Tuesday.

More than 183,000 people in the borough are now fully vaccinated but 23.4 per cent of those eligible have not received a single dose.
