Insp Richard Mangham said: “Fortunately, no-one has been injured but these incidents had the potential for tragic consequences.

“Officers from our Doncaster West neighbourhood team, Operation Fortify and serious organised crime teams have been working in conjunction to patrol the area and provide reassurance to the local community.

“Increased patrols will continue over the following days as our enquiries continue at pace.

“We would ask the community of Edlington to support these efforts and come forward with any information they have in relation to these incidents.

“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see what happened? Do you know who might have been involved?”

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident 603 of July 31.
