East Herringthorpe paedophile given suspended sentence

Peter Ward (64), of High Greave Road, East Herringthorpe, admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of a child between July, 2014 and August, 2018.

Ward was found with 74 category A images — the most extreme level — plus 59 category B and 208 category C images.

He was given six months in jail, suspended for 18 months, at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday.

Ward was ordered to complete a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

He was put on the sex offenders’ register for ten years and handed a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.
