Drugs police in raids on Rotherham homes

POLICE swooped in south Rotherham on Friday morning after months of intelligence work aimed at snaring “movers and shakers” on the drugs scene.

More than 40 officers travelled to Dinnington and North Anston as part of Operation Manifest—targeting dealers who supply street traders with Class A substances.

Five homes were raided and Det Chief Insp Mark Wilkie said: “As far as I’m concerned we have fulfilled our objectives today.

“We made two arrests and the searches have uncovered what I would call items of significant evidential value.”

A man in his 40s was arrested after his white Citroen van was tracked and pulled over by officers on Park Avenue in Dinnington.

A woman in her 20s was arrested at his Lodge Lane property. Both were detained on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.
