Drivers hurt as car and ambulance collide

POLICE are looking for witnesses to collision between a car and an ambulance.

The crash happened in Todwick at around 8.15pm on Tuesday, where Worksop Road meets Todwick Road and Kiveton Lane.

The ambulance, travelling towards Anston, crossed the busy junction with its sirens and blue lights on.

Cars stopped or moved aside to let the ambulance through as it crossed the junction, but the driver of a Nissan Micra apparently did not see it and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the car—which was travelling from Kiveton Road towards Todwick Road—sustained minor injuries, as did the driver of the ambulance.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 1092 of June 12, 2012.
