Driver hurt in M1 smash

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital after a crash on the M1 on Tuesday night.

The man (33) was driving a red Kia Picanto south between junctions 34 and 33.

The vehicle was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Golf at about 9.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said: “The driver is not thought to have suffered serious injuries in the incident.”

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that firefighters from three stations attended and cut one casualty free from a car.
