That morning, two engines from Rotherham station had been called to a stock yard on Doncaster Road, Thrybergh where a fork lift truck had caught fire.

They arrived at 6am and stayed for around an hour-and-a-half, extinguishing the blaze with a water jet.

In Broom, two crews were called to a kitchen fire on Oakwood Grove at around 5pm the same day.

A pan left unattended had caught fire, but was extinguished before fire engines arrived.

The crews from Rotherham station used fans to ventilate the house, which suffered minor smoke damage.
