A DRIVER who hit 72mph as he smashed the speed limit has been fined.
Ismyl Hussain (32) was found guilty of speeding in his absence and handed down three penalty points and a fine by magistrates.
Hussain, of Wordsworth Drive in Herringthrope, failed to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Wednesday (Feb 1) for the speeding offence and another case which was to be heard separately.
The court heard that Hussain — who had admitted driving the car via post — was caught by a speed camera travelling at 72mph in a 60mph zone in the early hours of May 4 last year.
He was picked up by the camera at 4.36am on the A616 single carriageway road near Barnsley.
AS well as the penalty points, Hussain was also given a £220 fine, ordered to pay costs of £85 and given a victim surcharge of £30.
