Driver cut free from car after crash outside Maltby school

A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) after a crash outside a school.

A silver Volkswagen and a red Suzuki Swift were in collision on Lillyhall Road at the junction with Braithwell Road in Maltby at around noon.

Two fire engines from Maltby and Edlington station were at the scene, near to Maltby Academy, for an hour and cut the woman free from her car.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the drivers were not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed at the time of the collision but later reopened.
