Driver arrested after fatal crash
A WOMAN died after being hit by a car while crossing the road near Clifton Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 52-year old was pronounced dead at the scene and a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
His silver Ford Focus had been travelling along Doncaster Road towards Rotherham town centre at about 4.40pm.
Police appealed for witnesses to call 101, quoting incident number 809 of August 6.
