Drink-driver suspect caught after West Melton car crash and blaze

A SUSPECTED drink-driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries after his car overturned and caught fire in West Melton. 

Firefighters attended the scene in Packman Road, West Melton, at 9.50pm on Monday and alerted police before leaving the scene at 11.15pm.

The fire service said the man's vehicle had overturned and caught fire.

"The driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and has been reported for summons for driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol," said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Police.
