Dozing driver sleeping soundly with cash and 'class A drugs'

Police initially thought the car was abandoned — but soon discovered a tired, “jittery” male driver, at the wheel.

An officer from the Rotherham North Neighbourhood Policing team said the man had been found with two phones and “a pocket rammed with cash”.

A search of the car in Brampton Bierlow on Sunday (15) also uncovered 19 wraps of suspected class A drugs, said the officer.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested for driving offences and possession with intent to supply.

“Bet he wished he’d had a kip elsewhere now?”, said the officer.
