Dozens of vehicles damaged in fire

DOZENS of cars were damaged in a fire at a Manvers car park on Saturday.

Firefighters were called to the premises at Farfield Park, Manvers at around 3.45am.

Three appliances attended from Dearne, Rotherham and Edlington fire stations.

There they found a VW Passat alight — the blaze affected 28 vehicles in total, a South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Three crews were called to a kitchen fire at Bay Tree Avenue, Flanderwell on Sunday morning.

Staff from Maltby, Aston and Rotherham attended at around 3.40am.

Cooking left in an oven had damaged the appliance and filled the kitchen with smoke.

Crews used fans to clear smoke from the property, leaving at around 4.20am. The fire was caused accidentally.

And two appliances attended a traffic collision on the M1, between J31 and J32 last night.

Crews from Parkway and Aston found two vehicles already on the hard shoulder at around 8pm.

They left the scene at around 8.30pm. No injuries were reported.
