A survey is seeking the opinions of those who have been directly affected, as well as their relatives.

Even those who choose not to engage with specialist support will be welcome to share their thoughts on the issue.

The review by Rotherham Borough Council supports the aims of the Domestic Abuse Partnership strategy, led by the Safer Rotherham Partnership.

This seeks to make sure that accessing information and help is simple for both adults and children.

Cllr Emma Hoddinott, cabinet member for safer neighbourhoods, said: “One woman in four experiences domestic violence in her lifetime.

“Many more individuals, their families and friends will have been affected by it.

“It is important we get support right, so the council are keen to hear people’s views on current services.”

Anyone wishing to take part in the survey can find it online at www.rotherham.gov.uk/community until tomorrow.

Findings and recommendations will be put forward for consideration by cabinet members next month.
