Dogs falling ill after walking along Mexborough canal

DOG walkers have been urged to be vigilant after police received reports of a number falling ill after being walked along a canal.

A spokesman for the Doncaster West local policing team said they had received reports of a couple of dogs becoming ill after being walked along the South Yorkshire Navigation Canal, in Mexborough.

He said: “It’s not clear what caused the illness but we would ask people to be vigilant walking their dogs in the area.”
