Dog hurled from car in M1 smash

A WOMAN suffered a broken leg and head injuries in a crash on the M1 in which a dog died after being thrown from a car.

It is thought the red Citroen Xsara driver, a 25-year-old woman from Rotherham, lost control at junction 32 and rebounded off the hard shoulder.

Her vehicle collided with a blue Ford Fusion travelling the same way at about 10.30pm on Saturday night .

The dog was thrown from the Fusion to the carriageway, where it was hit by a silver VW Golf.

The 39-year-old Fusion driver and his 37-year-old passenger, both from Leeds, suffered whiplash and chest and facial injuries.

Witnesses are asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 1377 of July 14.
