Do you know New Year's Eve robber?

DETECTIVES hunting a man who stole a woman’s mobile phone outside a Rawmarsh pub at 1am on New Year’s Day have released an e-fit of the suspected robber.

The 19-year-old woman from Kilnhurst was celebrating at the Star pub when she went outside to make a phone call.

As she finished the call, a man approached her and demanded she hand her mobile to him.

He did not physically harm the woman, but was described as intimidating and aggressive, using threatening language.

Fearing the man may assault her, the woman handed the phone over, at which point the offender ran away.

The stolen phone is a black iPhone 4 with a purple case. The offender is described as a white man in his early-mid-20s. He has brown hair, shaved at the sides and spiky on top. He has a medium build and was wearing a blue and white checked shirt.

Officers have released an e-fit and would like to speak to anyone who may know who this person is, saw what happened that night, or has any information about this incident.

Call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and speak to Det-Constable Rachel Morton, quoting reference C/122/2012.
