Do you have any memories or pictures of Royal Family visits?

Do you have any memories or pictures of Royal Family visits?

WHAT are your memories of royalty coming to Rotherham?

Perhaps you rubbed shoulders with Princess Diana on her visit to the town in 1991?

Did you see Princess Margaret on her South Yorkshire tour in 1953?

Or were you lucky enough to have a chat with the Queen at Herringthorpe Leisure Centre in July 1975?

We are putting together a special publication this spring focusing on the Royal Family, which will feature all our archive pictures of past and present visits to Rotherham, and we want to hear from you.

Some readers have already got in touch to tell us fascinating stories and show us their previously-unseen photos of royal visits from throughout the years — but we would love to hear and see even more.

If you have any pictures of any royals visiting the borough or memories of meeting them, get in touch with our newsdesk by emailing newsdesk@rotherhamadvertiser.co.uk or calling us on 01709 768000.

You can also send us your photos or memories through Facebook or on Twitter to @rotherhamtiser.

The fact you are here means you are interested in what goes on in your town.

We want to continue holding local authorities to account, attending court and council meetings, as well as providing breaking news, competitions and offers – but it costs money. Online advertising does not cover costs, therefore we feel the need to ask for your help in ensuring we can provide the best possible coverage, online and in our printed products.
For as little as £1, you can support the Rotherham Advertiser – and it only takes a minute.
