DISTRICT NEWS: WICKERSLEY

ST ALBAN’S CHURCH: Services held on Sunday were, Communion at 9.15 am, All Age Worship at 10.45am and Evening Prayer at 6pm.  The Stepping Stones group, for pre-schoolers and their parents or carers, has restarted in the Barn on Mondays, 9.30 am-11 am. Further information on the group can be obtained from Joyce Rose on 703134. The Director of Music, Cory Lovell, gave an organ recital in church on Wednesday evening for members of the St Alban’s Ladies’ Fellowship and their friends. Our Patronal Festival will be celebrated on Sunday, June 19, with two Communion services in the morning and a special evening service of Songs of Celebration. On Monday, June 20,  the Bishop of Doncaster, Rt Revd Sophie Jelley, will confirm some seventeen candidates in a special service at St Alban’s at 7.30 pm. All church members and friends from other parishes are welcome to attend the Confirmation.

WICKERSLEY NEIGHBOURHOOD GROUP (WING): At the meeting on June 8, a game of Play Your Cards Right was played. Raffle prize winners were Gill Haggie, Mary Fudge, Ann Shaw, Mary Elshaw, Pamela Levy, June Thickett, Alan Wood. Doreen Foster and Jackie English. The winner of the Lottery Draw was Mary Elshaw. On Wednesday, June 15, the members enjoyed a fish and chip lunch together provided by The Chipp Inn at Flanderwell.
