ROTHERHAM PROBUS CLUB: The Rotherham Retired Professional and Businessperson’s Club holds its meetings at Broom Lane Methodist Church, Broom Lane, on Tuesdays at 10am. At the next meeting on June 28 the guest speaker’s topic will be Clues above the Eyeline. A programme of talks for 2022 is available on the website: www.rotherhamprobus.com.

ROTHERHAM ARMED FORCES DAY: Join us in the town centre this Saturday, June 25, from 10am to honour our Armed Forces. There will be a military parade, speeches, live music, stalls and more. Don't forget it's free parking too in all town centre-based council car parks on weekends.

VOLUNTEER WALK 2022: Takes place on Thursday, June 30, 12pm until 2:30pm in Rotherham town centre. Registration is from 11.45am until 12.15pm. This event will be based at the Rotherham Minster and it will be optional to join the walk through the town centre. The event is to say thank you to Rotherham Volunteers. NEW VENUE AND TIME ROYAL AIR FORCES ASSOCIATION ROTHERHAM BRANCH: We meet on the second Wednesday of every month at our new venue for meetings Silverwood Miners Welfare, Dalton, at 12pm. We are committed to helping veterans of the R.A.F. and their families in times of need. Serving personnel and ex RAF veterans are always welcome. ROTHERHAM METRO RAMBLERS: Welcome new members who would like to join us. Regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. Walks are every Saturday and Wednesdays in the local Rotherham area or in areas of South and West Yorkshire, the White and Dark Peak areas of Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire. ROTHERHAM MINSTER & ST PAUL’S MASBROUGH: Our churches are open for Sunday worship from 10.30am. Rotherham Minster is also open to the public Tuesday to Saturday during the week, and Oasis — 30 minutes of peace and meditation — is held in Rotherham Minster every Tuesday from 1pm. ROTHERHAM THURSDAY GROUP: Are a group of widows, widowers and those who have lost a long term partner. They meet monthly at The Phoenix Pavilion, Brinsworth to arrange social activities and support each other. They have frequent meals out, at lunchtime, or in the evening. They go for walks, ten pin bowling, to the theatre, live music shows and any other activities that might be suggested by our members! including day trips to lots of different places and over the years we have been on many holidays together, both in the UK and abroad. ROTHERHAM IN BLOOM: The Rotherham in Bloom Garden Competition is now accepting entries. The much-loved competition is open to both council and non-council tenants, meaning any Rotherham resident can apply. The competition has several categories including: Best garden, best pots, planters and hanging baskets, best vegetable patch and for the younger residents — best young gardener. This year also sees the introduction of a new category - best wildlife garden or sustainable garden. Each category will have two winners, one council and one non-council tenant each winning £100 in gardening vouchers with two runners up in each category each receiving £50 in gardening vouchers. ROTHERHAM PENSIONER’S ACTION GROUP: Will be meeting on Tuesday, June 28, in the Community Room at Tesco, from 10.30 to 12.30. The speaker will be Helen Wyatt, patient and public engagement manager from the Clinical Commissioning Group,who will tell us about the changes in the NHS. New members are welcome.
