5thAGE: Meet at 2 to 4pm every Tuesday for activities and friendship for the over 50s in the Heighton View neighbourhood centre. Refreshments £1.50. Drop in and have a chat.

ARTS AND CRAFTS GROUP:  Meets every Wednesday from 2 to 4pm, at the William Layne Reading Room on Aughton Lane, Aston. Come and enjoy an informal chat with members. Everyone welcome. Just turn up or contact Elaine on 0114 287 4710.

ASTON-CUM-AUGHTON HISTORY GROUP: We are once again meeting in the William Layne Reading Room on Aughton Lane, Aston, on the first and third Mondays in the month from 7 to 9pm and new members are welcome. Anyone interested can come to a meeting and try us out!  Our next meeting is on Monday, June 20.

ASTON LADIES CIRCLE: We would like to welcome any new members to our Tuesday evening social gathering, which meets from 7.30pm at the Parish Hall. We have speakers on various interesting, light-hearted and amusing subjects, suppers, entertainers and trips out. Come along and meet new friends – try us out free of charge for your first evening. If you like us, membership is £5 every six months, and £3 entry as and when you attend, which includes a free raffle ticket and tea and biscuits.

ASTON LADIES GROUP: Meetings are held at Aston All Saints Church Narthex on the third Monday of the month at 1.45pm.   For further information about what they get up to at the meet-ups and when, please contact Val Dixon 0114 2873214.  

ASTON TARA: Aston Tenants and Residents Association are once more hosting their free coffee mornings every third Wednesday in the month at Hepworth Drive Neighbourhood Centre. If you want to enjoy a chat or meet a new friend, please call in.

BOWLING CLUB: Come along to learn Crown Green Bowling. Meet friends and improve your fitness levels. We have equipment to get you started. Free taster sessions, have fun, stay healthy.

CHATTERBOX ACTIVITY GROUP:  Are a friendly group for pensioners, carers and over 55s. Meet every Tuesday from 10am to 12.30pm in Central Methodist Church, Lodge Lane, Aston.  Lots to do including card games, table tennis, indoor curling, weekly quiz, free raffle and board games. You can have a chat and a cuppa and meet new and old friends, all for £2.  For more information ring Janet on 07989 370593.

PROSPECTS: Prospects@Central, an inclusive service for those with learning difficulties meets in the Baptist Church on Worksop Road, Swallownest on the third Sunday of each month, starting at 3pm. It is an inclusive service for those with learning difficulties. They provide a relaxed and supportive time out with singing, simple Bible stories and drama, with cakes and drinks for those not in a hurry to leave. All welcome. SWALLOWNEST LADIES GROUP: Meet on the second Monday of each month, 1.30pm to 3pm, in the William Layne Reading Room, Aughton Lane, Aston. New members welcome.

ULLEY COUNTRY PARK: The Friends of Ulley Country Park will be holding a café day on Sunday, June 19, from 11am until 3pm, serving a selection of sandwiches, homemade cakes and drinks. Also the City of Sheffield Pipe Band will be playing and there will be pebble painting and a plant sale. The Friends have also arranged a weekend of discovery in Ulley Country Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 1, 2 and 3. There will be refreshments, entertainments, crafts, activities etc. See the posters and leaflets.  More information will be included in the district news nearer the time.
