Disruption after Rotherham bus station blaze

PASSENGERS have been warned of disruption after a bus fire at Rotherham Interchange.

Firefighters were called at 10.40pm on Sunday to a bus well alight inside the station.

Platform A and the multi-storey car park were closed, with bus services transferred to platform B.

The shopping area was opened on Monday but with no access to buses.

A notice posted at the station said: “Due to the severity of damage caused by the fire, this could be for several days.”

South Yorkshire Police said there would be disruption to bus services and roads on Monday because of the incident.

The fire is believed to be accidental.
