“Gentle giant” Ben Heap (27), of Kimberworth, died two years ago from Sudep — sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.

More than £10,000 has been raised since for charity Sudep Action, which supported his family through bereavement, and autism specialists The Robert Ogden School in Thurnscoe, which Ben attended until he was 19.

The memorial match will take place at 11am on Sunday at the Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park in Brinsworth.

It will pit the True Blues against the Dirty Yellows — just like the Royal Cup match in 1971 Disney classic Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

After, there will be a raffle and bacon butties at the Manor Barn in Kimberworth.

Children are encouraged to wear their favourite Disney costumes, with a prize being given for the best.

Ben’s mum Mel said: “We’ll have cheerleader pom poms and balloons for the little ones. We’re hoping for some good weather, because last year it was freezing!”
