Disabled man robbed at knifepoint in Thrybergh

A DISABLED man was robbed at knifepoint after trying to intervene in what he believed was a racial abuse incident.

The victim saw a pedestrian speaking to someone in a white car on Park Lane in Thrybergh at 11.15pm last night (Tuesday).

He stepped in because he thought the pedestrian was racially abusing the motorist.

The pedestrian robbed the man, who has physical disabilities, at knifepoint and ran off.

The suspect is described as white, aged about 20, 5ft 5ins tall and of heavy, stocky build. He was wearing jeans and a green or grey top.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident 900 of January 29.

A police spokesman added: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and, in particular, the driver of the white car.”
