Devastated family of UK man killed in tragic Australian car crash desperately seek help to bring him home

THE FAMILY of a father-of-two who was killed in a car crash while travelling in Australia are raising funds to bring him home.

Craig Bott (38) died in an accident on March 16 on the South Western Highway close to Perth.

His identical twin brother Glen is now asking for the community, friends and family to help them bring Craig’s body back to the UK to give him the send-off he deserved.

“Craig was full of life and loved to live life to the full, his warmth and happiness touched so many,” Glen told the Advertiser.

“He travelled to Australia in January and was hoping to come home in June.

“He was loving his time [there] and regularly shared his travels and experiences through social media.

“His death came as a huge shock to us all and we are all still in disbelief.”

Craig leaves two children, a daughter Cadey (16), and a six-year-old son called Jaxson.

Glen said Craig had been born in Rotherham and been brought up in Mexborough, attending Wath Comprehensive School and Dearne Valley College.

He said Craig had lived in the Herringthorpe area of Rotherham for the last ten years and had spent most of his working life in construction.

Glen said that growing up the twin brothers had been “inseparable”.

He added: “As identical twins, we looked alike, dressed alike and had many mischievous times as twins do.”

Glen described Craig as a “family man who loved his kids passionately”, adding: “They were his pride and joy.”

The grieving brother has set up a fundraiser page to ask people to help him with the costs of flying Craig’s body home and holding a funeral, which could top £15,000.

“We have been blown away by the messages of support and donations already,” said Glen.

“We have also been touched by just how many people have contacted us to share their memories.”

Glen said it would take approximately two weeks to arrange the repatriation of Craig’s body and he believed the funeral would be in three or four weeks’ time.
