Delivery driver's scooter stolen in attack at Wath

A TAKEAWAY driver was assaulted and had his scooter stolen after stopping a zebra crossing.

The Domino’s Pizza delivery worker was riding near the Onyx Retail Park, on Harris Hawk Way in Wath at about 5.40pm on Saturday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Upon stopping at the crossing, a group of teenagers approached the driver and began assaulting him, before stealing the scooter he was riding.

“The scooter was discovered abandoned in Mill View, Bolton-on-Dearne, at around 6.20pm.

“Officers are keen to identify the individuals, who are thought to be aged around 16 and 17.

“Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the Onyx Retail Park prior to the incident or shortly after, who may be able to assist with our enquiries.”
