Deliberate fire at derelict town centre shop

A FIRE in a store room at a derelict town centre shop was started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rotherham, Aston and Parkway stations were called to an unused shop on College Street, Rotherham, at 2.35am on Tuesday (11) and tackled the deliberate fire using two hose reels and breathing apparatus, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

They left the scene at 4.55am, she added.
