Delays in the case of man who attacked woman in McDonald’s

A MAN who went into a McDonald’s restaurant in Dalton armed with a bladed weapon and assaulted a woman will have to wait until next month to learn his fate.

Anthony Binney (36), of Elliott Court, Rotherham, was due to be sentenced at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today (Monday) but his case was adjourned until May 3 because his pre-sentence report was not ready.

Binney admitted on April 1 to possession of a bladed weapon and common assault in relation to an incident at McDonald’s on Doncaster Road on March 28.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear via video link at the next hearing.
