A 90-day public consultation ran until April to collect views about the centre, currently based on Badsley Moor Lane.

It has already been decided that a new name will be used, as online searches bring up the court case which saw two staff jailed for neglect in 2021.

The council says it wants the change to reflect how much the service has moved on.

However, a review into those past failings — relating to abuse between 2008 and 2017 — has yet to be published.
