Death of woman (29) being treated as "unexplained"

THE death of a 29-year-old woman is being treated by police as unexplained.

A postmortem on Monday has determined the cause of death to be hanging.

The woman’s body was found at a house in Pitt Street, Kimberworth, on Sunday.

Police were called to the scene by ambulance staff at around 11.25pm.

The identity of the woman is not being released by police, at the request of her family.

A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue, a police spokeswoman said.

Detectives are still trying to find out the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and want to hear from anyone who was in the area on Sunday evening.
