Dearne Valley College thanks its loyal eaters

COLLEGE cooks have served up a feast to say thank you to a couple they have seen nearly every week for the last 20 years.

Dearne Valley College students cooked up a slap-up meal in honour of Conisbrough couple Jim and Harriet Reeve for their loyalty in visiting the college’s Griffin Restaurant on an almost-weekly basis since the late 1980s.

Mr and Mrs Reeve, were presented with a certificate and flowers at the  restaurant in Wath by college principal Sue Ransom.

Mr Reeve said: "We've been coming to the Griffin Restaurant for over 20 years and have thoroughly enjoyed all our visits.

“We get a lot of pleasure from seeing the students develop their skills from when they begin their courses.

“On each visit, we talk to the students and over the months see them gain confidence as individuals in a service industry.”

Mrs Reeve added: “We've had a fantastic day and would encourage anyone to visit the restaurant as you can't beat the quality and service—it really is first class."

Carol Brook, the college’s catering and hospitality manager, said: "Mr and Mrs Reeve have been dining at The Griffin Restaurant every week for over 20 years and many weeks more than once.

“Over the years, they have seen many faces both staff and students greet them and serve them their meals.

“We are delighted that they have chosen our venue as a place to eat and we look forward to serving them many more meals in the future".
