Dead foal find prompts animal charity action
Janine Cope, owner of TAK Pony Rescue, said animals could be even given over anonymously to be cared for at the centre, which has just expanded.
The Advertiser reported last week on a dead foal which had been fly-tipped between Harthill and Kiveton Park — and another carcass was found dumped on Hawks Lane, Thurcroft, on Saturday (12).

Hide AdJanine said: “I’m asking whoever has done this to please stop it and anyone who is thinking about dumping colts, please don’t.
“Please contact us at TAK and we will take in these innocent ponies. We will do this anonymously, we can assure you.
“If you can’t afford them, stop breeding. These images we are seeing are heart-breaking and we need to stop this from happening again and again.”
The RSPCA, which was informed of the Thurcroft incident, has warned of a “horse crisis” as the numbers of dead animals continues to increase.

Hide AdTAK’s site at Kiveton Park has tripled in size since opening in October, recently adding eight acres on Manor Road.
The centre, which welcomes visitors and has a tuck shop, currently has 14 horses plus lambs and a donkey.
Preparations are being made to take in a dozen rescue battery hens.
